Under the general direction the of the Policy & Program Support Branch’s Grants Administration and Program Design Section Chief (Staff Services Manager II), the Program Design Manager (Staff Services Manager I) leads the Program Design Unit which is responsible for strategic design and implementation of grant programs and policies. PPS provides oversight for over $5 billion in Homeless Housing, Assistance, and Prevention (HHAP), Encampment Resolution Fund (ERF), and Family Homelessness Challenge (FHC) grants, which provide counties, continuums of care, and large cities with flexible funds to support regional homelessness services coordination, expand interim and permanent housing solutions, develop local capacity to address unsheltered homelessness.

 

The Program Design Manager establishes workflow processes and provides the guidance and approval for unit work products, which includes notices of funding availability, applications, application review. The Program Design Manager also directs, coaches, and the develops the staff of the unit to ensure a high performing team with good morale.
